We are proud to announce the 2024 inaugural Jed Martin #6 Foundation Memorial Scholarship has been awarded to Mr. Jess Whitehead of Blanco,
Texas, Salutatorian, Blanco High School class of 2024, Blanco ISD.

Jess Whitehead is a Sheep and Steer Exhibitor who has placed numerous steers at major shows as well as the Blanco County Show. He has aided in the daily operations of a Ranch that spans from Mason, TX, to Bulverde TX, and he has assisted in veterinary operations and treatments on a wide variety of livestock.

Jess has taken extra educational agriculture courses and has served his community through Blanco County Sheep and Goat Validations, Rabies Drives, Wild Game Dinners, and Blanco County Fair and Rodeos. He has belonged to the Texas FFA Association in 2023-24 and the Blanco FFA Chapter in 2021-
2024, and , in fact, has served as the Blanco FFA President in 2022-2024.

Jess Whitehead has been in the FFA Association, and earned awards such as, the Lonestar Degree Recipient in 2023, the 2023 Cattle Raiser of the Year, and the 2023 Livestock Judging Proficiency Award.

Jess Whitehead has also served during his 2023 YouthWerks Mission Trip.

All of these accolades he earned while also carrying a 4.O grade average and serving as National Honor Society President at Blanco High School.
No doubt this is a Blanco HS student who is known for multiple levels accomplishment and, one who has demonstrated academic success and outstanding character.
