A Little about the Namesake

Joshua Jed Martin, son of Ricky and Jana Martin, and brother to Wes, attended Texas A&M University and majored in Biology.  He continued his education at the University of Houston, graduating from optometry school, where he met and eventually married Lindsey Denison, also an optometrist. Together they opened Bulverde Vision Source in May 2019. Only a few weeks later, at the prime of his life, at 33 years old, with a beautiful wife and 2 young children, Jed was diagnosed with colon cancer. He passed from this life into the heavenly realm on June 4, 2020. His absence is like the sky, e v-e-r-y-w-h-e-r-e.  Yet, his loved ones have held onto the belief that this is not the end of the story, that one fine day something brilliant and beautiful awaits those who put their hope in Jesus Christ.

In honor of Jed, the Jed Martin #6 Foundation Memorial Scholarship program will recognize one or more students known for multiple levels of interests and accomplishments who have been accepted to attend a university within the Texas A&M University System during the 2025-2026 academic year.
